Visiting Midwifery Service
If you qualify for home visiting, regardless of the time you go home, you will either receive a home visit or phone consultation the next day from a Midwife. The Visiting Midwife Service is facilitated by King Edward Memorial Hospital Midwives.
All patients need to discuss with your Midwife your plan for going home as it will need to be organised. The length of your hospital stay will vary depending on your individual circumstances and healthcare needs. This could be from 4 hours after a vaginal birth or from 24-72 hours following a caesarean birth.
Overseas patient fees
Hospital fees for patients who are not eligible for Medicare are set by the WA Department of Health. Overseas visitors and overseas students are required to pay for the cost of their care. More information about overseas patient fees.
