Occupational Therapy Clinic Helper
Osborne Park Hospital are seeking friendly, reliable volunteers to support the Occupational Therapy (OT) team and help create a welcoming, organised and patient centred environment within the clinic.
As an OT Clinic Helper, you will assist with non clinical tasks that support clinicians and contribute to patient recovery.
Responsibilities may include:
- taking patients to and from the therapy unit and facilitating group home based activities such as making a cup of tea, laundry tasks and toilet or shower transfers,
- escorting patients to and from group sessions and engaging them in light exercise activities, and
- assisting group participants with activities of daily living, including cognitive engagement tasks, simple dressing tasks, laundry tasks and socialisation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, values independence and wellbeing, and is interested in how OT supports patients in their daily lives.
No clinical experience is required; just a positive attitude, good communication skills and a willingness to help.
Volunteers will receive orientation and guidance from the OT team, and shifts can be scheduled according to your availability.
Hours for these programs vary but are generally a one-hour time slot across Monday to Friday.
