New pain management clinic at OPH 26 July 2023 The Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson, Minister for Health; Mental Health, officially opened the Pain Management Clinic at Osborne Park Hospital on Tuesday 25 July. The clinic follows a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of persistent or chronic pain, comprising inpatient and outpatient services across medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, psychiatry and addiction medicine clinical streams. The service is expected to treat about 5,000 patients each year and will include pain education and group rehabilitation programs. Previously based at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, the new premises allows the clinic to expand its services. The Clinic is also a Level 1 Accredited training unit and forms part of the Statewide Pain Training Program. The Department of Health and 7News have launched a people's choice award at the annual WA Health Excellence Awards. Known as the 7News Health Heroes Award, members of the public can nominate a frontline worker who has made a significant impact on their health care journey and patient experience over the past wo years. Frontline staff can include doctors, nurses, allied health staff, administration staff, volunteers and service staff. Kick-start your nursing or midwifery career with GradConnect 22 June 2023 We're calling on newly qualified enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives to apply for GradConnect employment opportunities in our hospital and health care services. Online applications will be open from Friday 30 June 9:00am - Monday 17 July 2023 1:00pm. Late applications cannot be accepted. Karrinyup Rotary Nurse of the Year winner announced for OPH 22 May 2023 Donna Wheeldon, Clinical Nurse Manager Osborne Park Hospital has been named the 2023 Karrinyup Rotary Nurse of the Year. The award recognises outstanding nurses at Osborne Park Hospital. Donna was the finalist in the category of Excellence in Clinical Practice and was nominated for her strengths in safety and quality and making a difference to those around her. Donna's nomination recognised her as a reliable and humble ward clinical manager who truly puts the patients at the centre of everything she does. She was recognised for her proven ability to build positive relationships, influence and set clinical standards for her ward as well as her personal qualities that inspire and motivate staff within the multidisciplinary team.
