Praise for OPH Physiotherapist Anita 05 August 2020 We love hearing about our amazing staff and sharing the positive experiences of our patients. Last week an Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) rehabilitation outpatient shared their lovely experience in relation to the care they received from Anita Rattray one of our OPH Senior Physiotherapists… "I am writing this to give some positive feedback on the whole staff at Osborne Park Hospital but especially one physiotherapist Anita whom I've been seeing for the last month. I felt Anita has a great way of balancing professionalism, care and friendliness which makes rehabilitation enjoyable. Celebrating our dedicated staff! 23 July 2020 Our SCGOPHCG Employee of the Month Award winner for May is Jeanine Alford Clinical Nurse Manager for Ward 4 at Osborne Park Hospital (OPH). Jeanine was nominated by Sharon Burke, Acting Coordinator of Nursing who said Jeanine is an excellent advocate for her patients and her staff. “Jeanine manages Ward 4 Younger Adult Rehab at OPH, a very complex and challenging patient cohort, and has been pivotal in the improvements in patient flow between Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and OPH,” said Sharon. “Traditionally there have been a number of barriers for larger patients, aggressive patients and complex patients being admitted to OPH. Jeanine has been incredibly pro-active in breaking through these barriers and displaying a can-do attitude in order to ensure these patients receive the most appropriate care in the most appropriate setting. OPH staff Share the Dignity with Stirling Women's Refuge 14 July 2020 Twenty handbags containing personal care items, known as Share the Dignity bags, were recently donated by OPH staff to the Stirling Women's Refuge. Share the Dignity bags are collected by women’s refuges to benefit ladies who have escaped family domestic violence suddenly and are staying at a refuge. OPH Admissions Clerk Cheryl Homewood led the collection of sanitary items, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, deodorant, hand cream, and pamper items such as lip balm, face masks, bath salts, and perfume, along with dressing gowns and underwear, to share with this vulnerable group of women. Thank you for your kind donation Cheryl - we're sure your hard work and kindness will be very much appreciated by the ladies at Stirling Women's Refuge.

Celebrating our dedicated staff! 01 July 2020 Our SCGOPHCG Employee of the Month Award winner for April is Genevieve Jones Registered Midwife at Osborne Park Hospital. Genevieve was nominated by Justine Huggins, CNM OPH Women’s and Newborn Services who said Genevieve encompasses everything you would want if you could handpick your own private midwife - the perfect nurturer who always puts her patients and their families first. Genevieve was recently involved in a rare and complex obstetric case and displayed incredible compassion and empathy to the family, voluntarily advocating to conduct home visits to maintain continuity of care. Jacqui was nominated by Social Work Head of Department Gianna Renshaw who described her as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team who consistently works to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Jacqui is highly committed to her work with vulnerable patients and their babies in the OPH WNB service. Jacqui, along with her colleagues is always very thorough in providing social work expertise and managing complex cases involving complicated psychosocial factors. Her work is often centred around advocating for mothers’ rights, at the same time as having to assess any risk factors for their babies and other children.
