The Wesley College Moorditj Mob showcasing their culture and heritage
10/11/2020

Staff at Osborne Park Hospital celebrated the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for NAIDOC Week 2020 (8-15 November).

The Wesley College Moorditj Mob delighted staff with an Aboriginal dance performance that showcased their culture and heritage.

We also unveiled artworks, donated by Dr Barry and Margaret Vieira, that depict the six Noongar Seasons and will be displayed in the meeting rooms with the same names.

Aboriginal Artist Justin Martin presented his artworks and told staff the stories behind each of the seasons and the elements he included in each piece.

‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ is the theme for NAIDOC Week 2020 which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

As a health service we value Aboriginal culture and Aboriginal people, and we are committed to creating a more culturally secure space for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and visitors.
