The Occupational Therapy (OT) Departments at SCGH and OPH are celebrating Occupational Therapy Week (26 October – 1 November 2020) . This year's theme is “Rebuild, Recover, Reengage and Reconnect”.

Occupational Therapists are a vital part of the care teams at SCGOPHCG as they assist our patients to regain independence in daily living activities and live safe and meaningful lives in their home environments following an injury, illness or while living with long term health conditions. This can be achieved through rehabilitation, education and modifications to the home environment.

The OPH OT Department celebrated OT Week with a presentation “OT in a COVID-19 World – Opportunities and Limitations for the Profession” followed by an accessible gingerbread house building competition. It was an enjoyable opportunity to reflect on clinical practice and recognise the amazing service our OTs provide, and a surprise visit from OPH Medical and Nursing Co-Directors Marie Slater and Dr Clare Matthews was a lovely way to complete the afternoon.
