Tanya Forsyth
14/06/2021

Tanya was nominated for this award by Lorraine Beaty, OPH Site Lead who described her as a valued member of the OPH After Hours Team and a role model others look up to. She consistently demonstrates exemplary communication and interpersonal skills whilst undertaking her role, often in highly emotive situations.

Tanya is known for her calm manner and thoughtful, thorough approach to situations and is always respectful to staff and patients. In her role as After Hours CNM Tanya is a member and leader of the Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and is well able to lead these teams in providing the required response to the situation. Other ERT members have commented about Tanya’s very calm, supportive leadership in these situations.

Recently during an emergency situation that occurred outside the main hospital entrance where, despite a number of doctors being in attendance, Tanya was the identified leader in the management of the emergency. Throughout the situation her communication was very clear and concise and her management orderly and logical. She also effectively diffused the situation calming those involved.

Tanya is efficient and effective when performing her role and is always looking for ways to improve systems and processes.

Staff have provided feedback that they feel supported when Tanya is on duty and they feel very comfortable contacting her to seek her advice or to discuss specific nursing care or treatment plans.

Tanya deserves recognition for demonstrating the NMHS values every day in her actions and attitude. She treats all people - staff, patients and visitors respectfully and equally. She is very reliable and always works to a very high standard when performing her role. She genuinely cares and advocates to ensure staff are working with the best available resources, and patients are receiving the best care.

Congratulations Tanya, you deserve this recognition!

Tanya and her colleagues will celebrate at an afternoon tea where she will be presented with a $150 gift voucher from sponsors.

A special thanks to our generous sponsors: HESTA, Paywise, Smartsalary and Aware Super.

If you've had a great experience with one of our staff members why not put them forward for an award? Next time you are onsite ask how you can submit a nomination.
