New outpatient Prehabilitation service

A new Prehabilitation service has been launched for patients receiving treatment at Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospitals with the aim to improve patients physical, nutritional, and psychological health prior to complex surgery or stem cell transplant.

The Prehabilitation service is a pre-surgical multidisciplinary team providing physiotherapy, dietetics, and clinical psychology for outpatients.

Prehabilitation benefits include optimised physical and psychological readiness for surgery, reduced length of hospital stay, improved post-surgical functioning for the patient and more.
